Energy Healing & Bodywork
Lighten up, let go, and activate your body to heal itself!

An Overview: Energy Healing and Bodywork Sessions
With compassion, humor, and a spirit of openhearted discovery, I invite you to get in touch with your body and yourself, through Energy Healing and Bodywork sessions. Release tension, and experience what its like to feel fully alive!
I create the safety and support you need in order to feel, express, release, and heal. I work intuitively using a variety of techniques, and enhance the session with guided imagery, essential oils and more. By the end of a session, most clients find they are able to let go, and relax deeply into stillness. Such stillness deeply nourishes the nervous system and the entire being, and enhances your bodys natural ability to restore itself. Working at such a deep level results in greater and more lasting benefits than massage alone.
I use a blend of the following techniques, tailored to your needs:
Techniques used in the sessions
Polarity Therapy: Most clients experience Polarityand my style of the workas very gentle but powerful. Although the work is often more subtle than massage and other types of bodywork, because Polarity addresses issues at the energetic level, the benefits are often felt longer and are farther reaching than the typical massage.
In Polarity bodywork, I place my hands directly on the body or in the aura. The client remains clothed throughout. I use different levels of touch, from very light to deeper point holding and rocking movements. I am guided both by intuition and my knowledge of certain standard polarity positions. I also work with the five elements as defined by Ayurveda (traditional medicine from India)earth, water, air, fire and ether, which flow through the body and are regulated by the chakras.
I may also use Polarity reflexologywhere contacts on one part of the body are made in order to affect a reflex point somewhere else. For instance, the hands might be placed on the feet, considered the negative pole of the body, in order to direct energy to the head, considered the positive pole. Throughout the session, the intention is to unblock the flow of energy, and balance the positive and negative poles.
After the session begins, I may continue mostly in silence or offer supportive counseling. I also encourage release of holding and tension through using the breath and making sounds, or through Polarity Yoga or other kinds of movement.
Polarity is more than bodyworkits actually a system of natural healing that also includes counseling, diet, exercise and self-awareness. I see my role as a wellness educator, and offer suggestions for self-care and for making nutritional and lifestyle changes. Because Polarity views true health as a reflection of balance within the electromagnetic energy fields of the body, the intention of all that is done within the context of Polarity therapy is to create and maintain that balance.

Reiki: Reiki is a gentle yet effective system for healing body, mind and spirit. Its getting widely known because its noninvasive, simple to learn and useful for pain relief, relaxation and reduction of stress. Reiki enhances healing on the mental, emotional and spiritual levels. Even hospitals have discovered Reiki, using it to ease discomfort and accelerate the healing process! Reiki is an ancient healing art that was rediscovered in Japan by Dr. Mikao Usui in the mid 1800s and brought to the West just before WW II.
In a Reiki session the client remains fully clothed. I hold my hands gently on the clients body in different positions, allowing the healing energy to sink into them. Usually clients feel my hands as warm and soothing, and they move into deep relaxation. That deeply relaxed state allows profound rest and healing to occur, and stimulates the bodys ability to heal itself.
As a Usui Reiki Master Teacher, my healing abilities have been activated and amplified through the process of Reiki initiation, a transmission of healing power that has been passed down through a lineage of Reiki Masters that goes back to Dr. Usui. I offer Reiki classes and individual Reiki initiations.
Gestalt Body Dialogue & Counseling: Based on Gestalt Therapy, a form of psychotherapy developed by Fritz Perls and others, I use this technique with clients in a bodywork setting. Often people are unaware of how much they hold their breath, hunch their shoulders, or are not able to feel their feelings. This lack of awareness can come from unresolved painful feelings from the past, trauma held in the body, and also from our modern sedentary lifestyles, where we spend much more time in our heads than in our bodies!
With Gestalt, we can have a way in, to explore what our bodies are trying to tell us. For example, if someone cant relax their breath, or is feeling stuck or at war with his or herself, I may ask where do you feel that in your body? and then we use that information to help get things moving again. Or while working on someones tense shoulder, I might say, If your shoulder could talk what would it say? or What does your shoulder need today? The body holds much information and great wisdom that we can tap into using Gestalt techniques.
Breath, Sound and Movement: I use the breath to deepen the clients awareness of what theyre feeling, as well as to help them release tension. To help them let go, I often ask the client to make sounds on the exhale (and I join right in so they dont feel self-conscious), or we may do some toning to tune the body.
Sometimes movement is neededeither on or off the table. Working on the table, I may ask the client to do some circular, unwinding movements as I support them, to release old patterns held in the spine. Or we may get up and move to music. I also incorporate movements from Polarity Yoga such as the woodchopper to help release anger, fear or other stuck energy from the body.
Reflexology: I start with massage strokes to warm up the body. This is followed by applying pressure to specific points on the feet, hands and ears. These points serve as reflexes to other parts of the body. For instance, applying pressure to the tips of the toes stimulates reflex pathways to the sinuses, and could be used to ease a sinus headache. I usually include some reflexology in each bodywork session because it feels great and is so good for balancing the systems in the body.

Essential Oils: I use high quality therapeutic grade essential oilsthe Young Living Essential oils. These oils are completely natural, smell and feel wonderful, and have many benefits. I use them to lift the spirits, enhance emotional release as well as promoting physical well-being. Sometimes I apply them directly to the clients skin or bottoms of the feet, or I may use them on my hands or a tissue so the client just inhales the aroma. (See links and resources)
Flower Essences: Flower essences are another great way to use the healing power of plants, and are used mostly for emotional healing and balance. I use Bach Flower Remedies, Perelandra Essences and other kinds of flower essences.
